Hairbook privacy policy
Effective 7 October 2026.
Hairbook is a personal tracker for hair-loss treatment. It is run by Muhammad Hammad ("we", "us").
What Hairbook stores
When you use Hairbook, the following is saved to your account so it is available when you sign in again:
- Your account: an identifier from Sign in with Apple, and the email address Apple shares (which may be a private relay address).
- Profile details you enter: a display name, the areas of hair loss you select, and the answers you give when setting up (age range, where you are with treatment, your goal and what gets in the way).
- Your regimen: the treatments and supplements you add, with their strength, brand, times and supply counts.
- Dose logs: which doses you marked as taken and when.
- Progress photos and selfies you take or choose in the app, and a coverage estimate calculated from top and crown photos.
- Check-in answers and notes.
- Lab results you enter or scan.
- Whether you hold a founding-member spot.
- A notification token for your device, with the app version and time zone, so reminders can be delivered to it.
Settings such as reminder choices, Face ID lock and sounds are stored on your device. A copy of your records is also kept on your device so the app opens quickly and works without a connection; it is removed when you sign out.
What stays on your device
- Photos of lab reports that you scan are read on your device and are not saved or uploaded. Only the results you choose to add are saved.
- The coverage estimate is calculated on your device.
- Reminders are scheduled on your device.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Hairbook reads only the medications you select and uses their names to add items to your regimen. Hairbook does not write to Apple Health. Health data is not used for advertising and is not shared with anyone.
How your data is used
Your data is used only to provide the app to you. We do not sell it, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with third parties except the service providers below.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts the database and photo storage. Each account can read and change only its own rows and files.
- Apple provides sign-in, in-app purchases and TestFlight. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
The website
If you ask for early access on hairbook.me, the name and email address you enter are sent to us by email through FormSubmit, a form delivery service. We use them only to reply with your invite.
Where data is stored
Data is stored on Supabase servers in the United States.
Keeping and deleting data
Your data is kept until you delete it. In the app, Profile has "Delete all my data" (removes your records and photos) and "Delete account" (removes your account and everything in it). Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID settings.
Children
Hairbook is not intended for anyone under 18.
Not medical advice
Hairbook is a tracker. It does not diagnose, treat or recommend treatment. Talk to your doctor about your treatment.
